3 years ago my life was so much different to today. I was at an all time low. Financially and emotionally.
After a decade of struggling, I simply couldn’t go on any more. Something (drastic) had to change, and fast.
And it was at that point that I decided to pursue a dream of mine, and take a massive leap of faith. I decided that enough was enough. It was time to leave a life of corporate stress as an employer, and go full time into internet marketing, working from home.
I was a business owner and employer since the age of 17, and for the last decade, since the credit crunch (2007/8), I’d found it very difficult to keep my business afloat.
I worked very long hours, suffered immense stress, and always paid my team before me, as I was very aware that they had their families to support.
The result was I myself was left struggling to support my own family.
And the only way I could make ends meet was to use my credit card to pay for everything that my bank account couldn’t manage!
Over the years the debts grew, until all of my credit cards were maxed out and I both my bank accounts were at their overdraft limit.
I had zero availability.
I had bailiffs knocking. I had no money. Every waking moment I had a knotted stomach. The stress was incredible. In the end, this abnormal state of mind became my normal. My “new” normal.
I did wonder how I managed to carry on at times.
I had lost my dear Dad a year earlier, and had recently had the one year anniversary of his passing.
Life was tough for me. I knew I had to do something. There was no way I could carry on like this.
So there I was. Exactly 3 years ago today.
Standing in my office on a cold, damp, miserable February night in 2017. And I finally did it. I made my decision.
To decide in latin literally means to cut off.
I learned that many years ago from Tony Robbins, who I’ve walked barefoot on 2,000 degree coals with (yes actually with him)
There were over 3,000 people at that event in London, and there were so many lanes of fire. But I spotted Tony at the head of one of the lanes and I decided that I would walk on fire on his lane.
Somehow I managed it. He gave me a firm whack on the shoulder and told me to go. When I reached the end of the coals, I knew if I could do that, I could do anything
It’s in the moment of decision that we shape our lives. And my decisions have certainly shaped mine.
My decision that fateful day, to walk away from a lifetime of being the boss, employing people, and putting everyone else first, was to be an incredible turning point for me.
I had made my decision. I had cut off that part of my life, never to return. And then it begun. The birth of my new life as an internet marketer.
But let me tell you…it wasn’t an easy start! Even though I’d been dabbling in this stuff before I made the leap, I still had so much to learn.

My first product launch was expected to bring in around

But you know what? Sometimes things don’t quite go as planned, right?
I didn’t make anywhere near that amount, and as a result I was left short, unexpectedly, and the stress was once again building.
Things were already tight, but I’d been banking on that launch. It was my saviour!
Well, I’d hoped it would be, but alas, no.
And that’s when it happened.
My wife walked into my home office and said, “Trev, this just isn’t working. We need to pay the mortgage and the bills. You’re going to have to sign on.”
“Sign on” over here means you get support. The government pay your mortgage etc. Not something I’ve ever done, and not something I was prepared to do!
“Look” I said, “I’m so close to making this work. Just bear with me. Have faith in me. I can do this.”
At that point as I spoke those words, I actually didn’t know how I was going to make it work. Nothing seemed to be going my way.
And then I had an idea.
An idea that would literally save my soul!
I knew I had these new buyers from my first launch. So all I had to do was think hard about what they need. Those buyers in particular. Specifically for them.
Well I came up with an idea, and built a product that I was confident they would be super keen to get their hands on.
Within the next 3 days I managed to generate over $3,000 in pure profit! I was so grateful.
I was so relieved.
And finally had the confidence that I needed to move forward. And that I did! With gusto! I continued to learn, adapt and evolve.
And soon I was seeing $50 to $100 per day…every day! But I needed more. A lot more.
My overheads were huge, and I needed to cover those, and eventually start clearing some of my debts.
So I pushed on. Always learning.
Taking training, training and more training!
And then came a day that I will never forget.
As I got down towards the bottom of the hill, I checked my phone and was stunned to see…

I had enjoyed a fantastic day, commission wise, and decided to go out for a walk with Jim (my Labrador).
